1. Prepare the Surgical Site:
- Ensure the surgical area is properly disinfected and bleeding is controlled.
- Select the appropriate suture size (3-0 or 4-0) based on the tissue type and location.
2. Open the Sterile Pack:
- Use aseptic technique to open the sterile suture pack.
- Carefully remove the needle and thread without contaminating them.
3. Needle Insertion:
- Use a needle holder to grasp the needle.
- Insert the needle at a 90° angle into the tissue for precise penetration and minimal trauma.
4. Perform the Suturing:
- Use reverse cutting needle for better grip and easier penetration in oral or dense tissue.
- Apply interrupted or continuous sutures as needed.
5. Knot Tying:
- Tie secure surgical knots, typically 3–4 throws.
- The braided silk provides excellent knot security.
6. Trim Excess Thread:
- Cut the ends of the thread to desired length, leaving enough for easy removal.
7. Post-Operative Care:
- Instruct the patient to keep the area clean.
- Sutures typically require removal in 7–10 days depending on healing.
