  1. Select the appropriate cord size according to the gingival sulcus width and clinical requirement.
  2. Cut the required length of retraction cord.
  3. If required, soak the cord in a compatible hemostatic solution as per the clinical procedure.
  4. Using a gingival cord packing instrument, gently place the cord into the gingival sulcus without excessive force.
  5. Ensure the cord is evenly positioned around the prepared tooth.
